Fast Results, Easy to Use
Weeds will begin to brown and die within 7-10 days. Remove dead weeds using a weed cutter and rake. Removal will prevent decaying plants from adding to the muck layer. By reducing excess weeds, you will lower nutrient buildup and improve your overall water quality.
Treats Aquatic Weeds
Works on various weeds in ponds and lakes, including submerged, floating, and shoreline weeds such: American Pondweed, Bladderwort, Clasping Leaf Pondweed, Coontail, Curly Leaf Pondweed, Eurasian Watermilfoil, Hydrilla/Elodea, Lily Pads, Sago Pondweed, Southern Naiad, and Water Shield.
Starts to Work on Contact
Easy to apply using a tank sprayer. For best results, use with Airmax Treatment Booster Plus, a non-ionic surfactant. It enhances the effectiveness of treatments by helping break the water surface tension and penetrate the waxy cuticle of emergent weed foliage.
How to Apply
Mix the amount of Ultra PondWeed Defense and Treatment Booster Plus (if using) with pond water in a tank sprayer according to label instructions. Use a pressurized pond sprayer to spray the Ultra PondWeed Defense mixture directly onto the target weeds.
When to Apply
Ultra PondWeed Defense has no temperature restriction, but it should only be applied when weeds are actively growing. Use with Treatment Booster Plus for best results.
Restrictions
- Wait three days before using treated water for human drinking water.
- Wait one day before using treated water for livestock and domestic animal consumption.
- Wait five days before using treated water for irrigation.
Chemical Application Best Practices
Any time you use chemicals to treat weeds, please keep in mind the following:
- Treat your pond in sections. Treat only half the pond’s surface at a time. During hot weather or when treating heavy growth, it is important to treat no more than 1/4 of your pond at a time and wait the full 14 days before re-applying. This schedule helps lower the risk of fish loss during hot weather or when treating heavy growth.
- Once the weeds have browned & died, use a rake to remove as much dead material as possible. This prevents an accumulation of dead plant material and muck.
- We recommend a proactive approach to pond management. Use Airmax PondClear, EcoBoost PRx, MuckAway, and Pond Dye to keep your pond looking great.
