HOW TO DETERMINE YOUR CHAIN SIZE
Chainsaws can be equipped with different guide bars. When selecting a chain for your chainsaw, in addition to the model and length, make sure that the pitch, gauge and number of drive links are correct. You can usually find them on the guide bar side stamp or in the owner’s manual.

How to tighten chainsaw chain properly?
1. Disengage the chain brake 2. Loosen the bar nuts 3. Lift the tip of the guide bar 4. Tighten the tensioning screw until the chain sits snugly against the bottom rail of the bar without slack and still rotates freely 5. Re-tighten the bar nuts

How to reduce the risk of kickback?
If you are not experienced with chainsaws, use a low kickback chain (ANSI standard). Also, never saw using the “kickback danger zone” on the guide bar (the top of the bar tip); use the underside of the bar instead.
