About Us
Why Crystal ?
Because crystal contains metals such as zinc and barium which are safe for human ingestion.
Zinc is taken as a vitamin and barium is used in medical testing as a contrast medium agent that is mixed into a drink that the patient swallows before a medical test.
Most glassware products today do not contain zinc or barium because of the higher cost.
Why Hand-made ?
Hand-made allows for more interesting details, and every hand-made product is unique. On the other hand, machines cannot do all of the interesting things with glass that humans can do.
Why Lead-free Crystal ?
Lead leaches out of the glass contaminating beverages stored in decanters for extended periods of time.
The danger to a person who drinks out a decanter once in a while is minimal but the dangers to the workers in the factory are significant. This is where the moral part of the equation comes in.
