Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are Traditional Insecticides Toxic to People and Pets?
Most well-known commercial products with sufficient pesticidal levels to be effective also have toxic effects on mammals, fish, fowl, and other species that are not the target of the product. Most insecticides kill an insect by damaging the insect’s nervous system. Many are toxic to people and pets and can damage the environment if not used properly. Some pesticides use chemicals that may be harmful to humans and animals.
