Our Story
What is a Swagman?
The term originates from Australia and describes someone who travelled by foot from farm to farm seeking work and carrying his belongings in a swag. This is the image our founders had in mind when they started Swagman almost 30 years ago. But they were in search of adventures and their swag included bikes, kayak or anything they could use to explore the nature surrounding them in beautiful British-Columbia, Canada.
About Swagman
Swagman was one of the first companies worldwide to design and market a hitch style bike rack. Over the years, that small bike rack company based in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia grew to include numerous ground breaking designs in the North American Bicycle, RV and Automobile markets.
Nowadays, we have grown but still dream of adventures, your adventures. How can we help you travel, explore and discover the beautiful nature our world has to offer? This is what drives us to design innovative product. Knowing our products are part of your journey is what keeps us going.
